San Fran

I believe that the Lord is clearly directing me to the city and to antichrist events. I have the support of the eldership of my fellowship and have bathed myself in prayer for His guiding in this ministry that has been entrusted to me. My goal is to be in the precise place that the Holy Spirit wants me to be. Today me and the crew went to the usual spots in the city. We park in a small lot on "mission" street. It's probably the best lot in the city because the workers that maintain the lot are christian. Are foot travel to our pulpit is littered with drugged and insane people. Many of whom pee right there on the sidewalk, so extreme caution is needed. WE have three favorite spots..the trolly-this spot is our congregation. We are able to usually get a full 20 minute sermon out to a crowd of a few hundred before they are whisked off by the cable car never to be seen again. not to mention the thousands of people who catch a soundbite of the message as they pass by. The other spots our places of "pleading". Your are just preaching from your heart and expressing the desire of the Lord for them to be in His Kingdom. I pray that the Lord will continue to lead me in the proclamation of the gospel. JIm

San Fran 4-09

This afternoon we hit the streets of San Fran in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We did open air preaching, tract distribution, and one-to-one conversations. This day i rebuked the false teachers from family radio, and listened to the crazy no-sex if your a christian guy. I also spoke to jose(the Jesus loves you guy)about the importance of being in church. He told me that he is no longer the christian he once was..he no longer goes to church, reads his bible, or shares the gospel. He has no intentions of changing either. His only plan is to hold his sign that says 'Jesus love you.' I was urging him that this is not a biblical christian, yet he says that he will not argue or listen. So be it. After a discussion with the eldership at my church I sense the Lord clearly directing me to preach solely in the city and at antichrist type events. amen. Jim

SRJC week 2

Today was a nice sunny day to proclaim the gospel. Carlin and myself preached from elliot ave for about 2 hours today. Carlin's dad Monte was off in the distance covering us in prayer. I only preached twice, and one particular preach i truly enjoyed. I did a exposition through the gospel of John..the evangelistical centered gospel. I met a few people briefly, and also a old atheist adversary brought before me a seeming contradiction on the account of the crucifixion. Also met a young christian named James. May the Lord bless our labor.

SRJC Semester 3

Today I embarked on my 3rd missionary journey to the SRJC campus. In 3rd, I mean third semester. I continue to see the need and urgency to get the gospel to the ears of the rebellious. I know that apart from hearing the word of Christ that they have no faith. So today for about two hours a partner and I labored in the preaching of the gospel open-air style. We managed several conversations in which a few were invited to fellowship. I saw many from last semester including Matt, who today, held his sign saying"no god." I introduced myself to the intervarsity crew asking for prayer, and also encouraged the Gideon guys who were handing out bibles. Also, Eric Thompson that atheist professor blasphemed the Lord with joy...may the Lord reward him for his sin(but I shall continue to pray for him). My goal this semester is to remain faithful to the ministry that has been entrusted to me..to preach the gospel of JESUS CHRIST.

To proclaim Christ on campus

My heart is truly burdened for the lost souls on the college campuses. I was once one of them, and I remember it being all about me..my life..my goals..and the verse that comes to mind is..'what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but lose his own soul.' This leads me to action..to go and proclaim the everlasting gospel to these students. I'm a man who truly believes that the Word of God is the most powerful weapon we have..my desire is to share it with all. This semester my goal is to preach the gospel at SRJC, SFSU, and Berkely. I pray that the Lord will raise up for me a partner committed to the proclamation of the gospel. Jim

World Series

Myself, Carlin, and Roger recently took a mission trip down to game two of the World Series in San Fran. While in route via bart we handed out tracts, bibles, and spoke with several about Christ. We ended up arriving at the game in the sixth inning. It was a bit difficult finding the perfect location to set up our preaching pulpit, but eventually we ended up in the middle of a crosswalk intersect. When the people came pouring out of the stadium..by the thousands...many of them would be standing at my intersection waiting for the train to pass by so that they could get across the street. While they were waiting we took advantage of this large gathering of people by proclaiming to them salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We had preaching, conversations, and many tracts distributed on this particular night. We were the only born again christians preaching ...what an honor! One particular man named Santiago was drawn to the Lord Jesus Christ when Carlin was boldly preaching the gospel. It was so amazing to watch. The man's friends were trying to pull him away, but he just couldn't leave! Many in this crowd were so fanatical about this sport that it reminded me of idolatry. This people were so in love with the cares of this world...that they didn't even want to think about there own soul..It reminded me of the children of Israel in the wilderness worshipping the golden calf..eating, drinking, dancing..and playing. Many were smoking marijuana and blowing it in our faces..I'm amazed that God saves any of us! My heart goes out to these people because this is fleeting vanity and pure idolatry. Love not the world. May God continue to strengthen this weak vessel to press on. Please pray for me. Jim

San Fran State

Our newest location has been SFSU. We've been preaching here on Monday's and Tuesday's for a couple of weeks now. We are underneath a beautiful tree in the midst of a big open grassy array of paths. We have handed out hundreds of tracts and had many engaging conversations with nonbelievers. Also, we have been proclaiming the Gospel for any and all to hear. The big encouragement at this particular place has been the response of the christians on campus. They are very excited that the gospel is going out, and many of them have been participating in some way. Our goal is for the whole campus to hear the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray that this mission is accomplished. Thank you, Jim

Cool stories

We have been praying that the Lord would confirm our ministry more and more. Interestingly, last week a man met us in San Fran and told us that the Holy Spirit revealed to him in a dream that two men would be preaching at the cable car the next day. He was told to stay with these two men..we were those men. This man labored with us for about two hours..he was sent to encourage and confirm the gospel. Today at the SRJC there was a heckler passing through a crowd of people yelling "shut up, shut up, shut...." and then all of a sudden the glass bottle he was holding fell out of his hand and shattered on the ground. He was immediately silenced and I praised God. THe Lord is working in a most interesting way in our midst, and our prayer is for Him to use us to proclaim CHRIST to all the world! By the way we are preaching the gospel twice a week at the Santa Rosa Junior College and once a week in San Fran. Pray that the Lord will continue to open doors for us to proclaim His victory!

The mission continues

We are currently preaching the Gospel at the Santa Rosa Junior College twice a week. Also, we are preaching in downtown San Fran on Saturdays. I thank God that HE has blessed me with a faithful laborer each particular day. We also have a one night a week that we are seeking the Lord together in regards to the ministry He's given us. We urge you to labor with us in earnest prayer! Remember...the harvest is plentiful!

Godly Repentance

We have been plowing the soil of the heart of man at the Santa Rosa Junior COllege for the past month. Typically we encounter hostility from nonbelievers, and yes, the occassional professing christian. I would like to point out this particular story because I believe it points out what Godly repentance is, and also demonstrates that the Spirit of God is at work in our midst. About two weeks ago a man very assuredly asserted that we were pushing people away from God by our method of sharing the gospel. He didn't like our outloud preachin and clear presentation of the wrath of GOd. He, like many professing christians, thought it not right to tell people about sin and hell. I shared my biblical reasons for preaching and he left unconvinced. Last week the same man came up to me while I was preaching. He told me that when he was in class that something didn't sit right with him about our encounter. He opened the bible and the first thing that hit him was not to prevent those who are preaching the word. He told me that GOD convicted him! This man then stuck out his hand and encouraged me to keep doing the will of GOD! THis is Godly repentance...led by the HOLY SPIRIT! Not only did the Lord show me how the Spirit convicts, but also demonstrated His approval of our ministry unto Him.

prayer requests

the Lord to be glorified in all we say and do,
the gospel would be proclaimed without compromise,
words would be given to us,
doors opened to preach the gospel,
gentleness, love, and meekness would be our adornment,
boldness granted,
clothed with power from on high,
the Lord would show Himself alive to the hearts of men by many infallible proofs,
men might be led to repentance,
the conviction of sin for those who hear,
many souls born again,
many fellow laborers raised up,
christians encouraged and emboldened to share their faith,
The Lord Jesus to be glorified.

Thank You

SRJC 2010

This semester we are engaging the campus in gospel preaching and prayer. The Lord of heaven tells us to pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest! We have handed out hundreds of tracts in our 3 mission trips there..and preached to thousands of students, and have had many amazing conversations. Our goal is to preach as dying men to dying men...to share as though we'll never share again..pray that God would pour out His HOly Spirit. We are praying the Lord to bring down the strongholds on campus and grant repentance to men! We are investing much time there and in prayer. Our heart is to see men come to salvation in Jesus Christ..and in so doing bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Santa Rosa Street Market is the harvest.

We are near the end of the SR street Market and the last few preaches have been spectacular. The Lord, I believe, has been revealing Himself to the hearts of men. And this is really the heart of it all...that God would show Himself Risen from the dead to a man! Now we've been handing out hundreds and hundreds of bible tracts, a few bibles, and preached to thousands. We asked one man if He heard the Jesus Christ speaking to him, and his reply was yes. We asked if he believed..his response was yes! We gave him a bible and prayed for the young man. We have been praying every Saturday night for the Lord to save souls..and He is working mightily in our midst. I truly believe we need to take the Lord serious in seeking and saving the lost...eternal damnation is a scary thought. The harvest is wherever the lost are...lets go!

Knowing He is Soveriegn

Lately we have been proclaiming the Gospel in downtown Santa Rosa. I must say that it has been a little different than usual. I say that because people are standing around us(hostile as they may be)and are listening to us. My greatest desire in these moments is to glorify my God in word and response. I've noticed my great need for gentleness in dealing with the lost sinner. The book of Timothy tells me to gently instruct those who oppose themselves..that by chance God might grant them repentance. I know that salvation is of the Lord..and when He moves to save a soul..it happens..and at the same time I deeply desire to be ministering in a way that lines up with His commands. God help me! We have been praying and yearning to see the Lord save the lost..I believe that we are definitely in the stage of breaking up the ground and sowing. I'm not sure if this ministry will be the ministry to be a part of the harvest..but we sure are praying.. and either way, those who sow and those who reap rejoice together. We also know that God has preordained good works for us to walk in...so whatever happens in the field is according to His good pleasure! My prayer is for a great awakening ...a great harvest of truly repentant men and women who fear God..and that no ministry or man could claim its stake in it..but rather that all the glory would go to JESUS CHRIST. Oh how I long to just be a part of that! Jim semisch

To simply preach the Gospel anywhere!

I love preaching the Gospel. For it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. My life has been transformed, my sins forgiven, and my eternal welfare have all been deltwith because of Christ Jesus. I am eager to preach whenever and wherever possible, so that someone might have the opportunity for salvation. Recently i've been sent to the Market place in Santa Rosa and San Fran. I would say that the majority of people ignore my message and mock it. It seems that our culture wants nothing to do with God...at least the true and living God. The King is coming back though..and I know that He has called me to this ministry...which is absolutely foolish in the eyes of the world. It seems to be a ministry in which the only branches that bear fruit are my own. I would say that this could be a stumbling block and cause me to doubt the preaching of the gospel..but the Spirit of Jesus Christ compels me to go to the lanes of the city...and warn. SO this is truly a ministry in which i'm a trumpet blower...warning people of the impending danger..that is God's wrath. Pointing people to the stumbling block and the rock of offense..Jesus Christ. In light of Gods judgement on sin..what else could i possibly invest my time in?

San Fran gay pride 2010

As my preaching partner puts it..this event was nothing but sexual anarchy. This parade was the demonstration of what a people comes to when they reject the LORD. The wickedness and moral depravity that my eyes saw and ears heard are too disturbing for me to mention. Myself, my partner Chris, and fellow brother Steve were sent by the Lord of Hosts to proclaim the everlasting Gospel to the tens of thousands of sodomites. We were verbally assaulted, spit upon, kicked, mocked, and had many drinks thrown on us. The first half of our 7 hours of preaching was concentrated on the tourists on market and powell. I then felt extremely burdened to warn the homosexuals. We set up our portable pulpits in the middle of an intersection next to the parade. Chris and I preached in this location for several hours with large crowds surrounding us. We had six to eight cops that surrounded us to protect us from the large mocking mob. I was blessed to hear my faithful christian brother proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in the midst of such hostility. Overall we preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many people and it was absolutely rejected. As always our mission is to faithfully proclaim the Lord's crucifixion and resurrection..and in this we rejoice! praise Jesus Christ our Lord for the honor of knowing Him. JIm Semisch

Pirate Festival Vallejo

This mission trip sent us to the waterfront of vallejo to the Pirate Festival. With over 20,000 people expected..we had to go. We went through the festival displaying scripture signs and were thrown out shortly thereafter. We then set up our soapboxes right in front of the exit/enter area. The cops arrived shortly after and affirmed us in our first ammendment rights. We preached the gospel of JESUS CHRIST for 3 hours to hords of disguised people. BUt the condition of the human heart isn't hidden from GOD, so we had to waRN THEM. OUr afternoon saw many threats of violence, much mockery, much perversion, and some attentitive listeners. Amongst all this Chris was filmed by a professional film crew..to where that broadcast goes..only GOD knows. As always the goal of the mission was to preach JESUS CHRIST as LORD and to warn every man of the day of judgement. Thousands heard the gospel, and i'm sure many more around the world will hear of our great KING due to the video cameras. PRaise be to JESUS CHRIST! HE reigns forever!

The serious conviction of God's upward calling

My understanding of God's upward calling encompasses a perspective of knowing no one according the the flesh. That means i think in terms of born again or child of disobedience. I have prayed that the Lord would give me His heart for lost souls..and so the scales have been removed from my eyes and all that I see is God's wrath coming upon the children of disobedience who revel in the daylight. I absolutely cannot sit in a pew when the gospel is the power of God unto salvation...and how shall they hear without a preacher! The harvest is plentiful..and i'm even comforted knowing that it's impossible for me to save a single soul..but rather i'm to preach Christ crucified...and He can make it grow if He wills. For God has mercy upon whom He wills. I love Him!! I shall proclaim with a loud voice like the angel in the book of revelation..fear God and give Him glory! For this gospel is the everlasting gospel. Preach it until your dying breath.

Preach Christ

Although i have not been posting...i've still been preaching. My adventure has wandered away from the colleges..for now..and down to the streets of San Francisco. This city is full of lost souls in desperated need of the Savior! I have Him or rather He has me..so how could i bury so great a treasure? No i must shout it from the roof tops.."repent and believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and you shall be saved!" It would be a crime and a wicked sin..not to declare what He has done. Please raise me up and send me forth my KING! IN CHRIST NAME.

The Risen Christ

Because Christ has risen from the dead...nothing else matters but honoring, obeying, and living a life that glorifies Him! I just recently returned from a high school retreat in which i was reminded of how incredibly priveledged i am to know Christ, to have the brotherhood of saints, and to be under the word of God. To be a christian is by far the most amazing thing in the universe..nothing compares to knowing the God who laid His own life down on a cross...and took it up again. I shall live in lovely obedience to my Savior!

Being Devoted to the One who died for me

I desire to be completely devoted to the One who died for my sins..Jesus Christ. His blood was shed and His body was broken..and all to purchase this sinful man. To Him I desire to surrender myself....was does it mean to be completely given over to Him....almost certain death!

SRJC post

I've been going to the college once per week for the entire semester. I've missed a week here and there, but always make it back. It's been an interesting adventure. Talking with atheists, evolutionists, agnostics, and all other sorts about Jesus Christ. I've just hoped that He would plant His word in their heart. Today i spoke with the religous professor who has in essence studied his way out of christianity. He claimed to have been born again at one time, but isn't now. I just couldn't help but be amazed that a man would reject the God who made him, the One who died for him, and the One who lives forevermore. This has been a rough mission field..one in which most of the joy has come through the scattering of the seed...and some watering, but no harvest. But i draw comfort knowing that Jesus does the saving. yes we shared the gospel with many students today, and are praying that the Lord will cause many to be born again.

Continue Steadfast that He might work

My desire to see souls come to Christ drives me to places where the lost frequent...concerts, colleges, and the sort. My most common experience is rejection, mockery, and people thinking i'm nuts. But my strength is born out of spending time with Jesus Christ. He has woven into my character His love for lost souls. That's why i don't care if they spit, curse, reject, or plain ignore the preaching of the gospel. i have His love for them and even if no one will recieve..i will still share...because who truly knows what God will do..perhaps He will save some.

Ministry of Reconcilation

The ministry of the gospel is one of reconcilation...that in which people can get right with God through faith in Jesus Christ. People through obedience to the gospel can enter into the very presence of God..and God Himself will make His home with them. Now naturally this would be impossible..that is for me to save a man..but with God all things are possible. The Holy Spirit of Christ uses the preaching of the cross to save those who are perishing..My confidence is not in my ability to convert a man, but in the power of the Spirit of God and the good news of Jesus Christ. It is God who works in the hearts of man..that men might be truly born again. So, whether or not anyone responds favorably to the message of the cross, I am compelled to preach it. For I know that men must hear this message..for faith comes by hearing and hearing the words of Christ.

The Phoenix and too Short

This was a gangsta rapper concert. One in which sex, drugs, and other unholy things were being proclaimed as good. This was a concert in which hundreds of local youth would attend. My heart is to see the Lord Jesus work in the hearts of people. My friend John and I reached the place at approx 8 pm. The concert was sold out, the entrance was jam packed and the line went around the corner. We immediately set up right in front of the entrance on the sidewalk and began to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. My message is to warn people to turn from their sins and put their trust in Jesus Christ. That He alone is the Way of salvation. We preached for about 1 and half hours, and John handed out many tracts. One lady in particular thanked me for standing up for my beliefs..it seemed as though the Lord had opened her heart. For the most part people were mocking the preaching of the gospel..but we understand that it is God who draws men unto Himself. Hundrends of kids heard the message and we pray that God would cause those seeds to grow in due time.

I must never cease to share the Lord Jesus Christ with people!

The Word made flesh

Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh. This means that God Himself became one of us..a man! But why? For the suffering of death..to reconcile the world unto Himself. They mocked Him, pulled the hair from His beard, scourged Him, beat Him over the head, crowned Him with thorns, and nailed Him to the cross. This man was the Word made flesh. He was made flesh to do the will of God..for a body was prepared for Him. Jesus is the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. Jesus is the Lamb of God who was slain before the foundation of the world. And this is the Word in which we preach..the One who knew before He made all things what He must do!..He knew that through His death on the cross..that if a man should confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead..that this man shall be saved! This is the One we preach about..and we preach not alone for He has promised never to leave nor forsake us..but rather that He shall be with us always..even unto the end of the age! This is our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ..and if He is for us who..who..who can be against us! Always remember that faith comes by hearing the Word of God..speak His word and the Word shall speak through you!

Roger leads man from Norway to Christ!

Our faithful brother in the Lord led Morton to Jesus Christ during our mission trip to San Francisco. Talk about a divine appointment...Morton felt that God was telling him to leave Norway and come to America..and that just three weeks prior! And it just so happens that in a crowd of 70,000 people...he bumps into preacher Rog..the Lord is in control! Praise Jesus and thank you Roger!

The rain may be the last H20 they ever see

On this day it was raining. I was contemplating canceling our mission trip to the SRJC, but one thought kept returning to my head...what if this rain is the last water somebody will ever see! I thought of the story of the rich man and Lazarus...the rich man lifted up his eyes in hell and being in torments begged for a drop of water. The reality is.. hell and heaven exist..and JESUS CHRIST is the only SAVIOR! This is my motivation to preach the gospel..people perishing daily and the LORD of heaven has made salvation possible through faith in Him. This day stood out as different because a christian approached stating that my method was all wrong..that i shouldn't be out in the rain preaching..why..people think your crazy. I shared with the man the reality of people perishing daily..and my trust in the power of the gospel and Spirit of JESUS CHRIST. After this he then realized that his perspective was a worldly perspective ...that of pleasing man rather than GOD. We must never exchange the truth of the Bible for a lie..the Lord is serious about saving souls..we must be to. So, after preaching in the center of the campus, Peter and I met a christian worship leader from a church in Petaluma. We all three then went to the front of the campus where we worshipped the Lord and preached the gospel. One man came screaming out of the crowd and got up in my face. He called me many filthy words and told me that i shouldn't direct my preaching at him...this is genuine conviction...when Gods Spirit uses the preaching of God's Word to convict a man of his sin and need for a Savior. Amazingly a young non-believer got up in his face telling him that I had the right to preach even if people don't want to hear it. I rejoiced because many people heard the gospel of JESUS CHRIST. I'm excited that the LORD is using us to stir up this campus.

Room in the Ark and Banquet

In the building of the ark...God made plenty of extra space on the inside. Why? Because God wills that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Yes, He is Just and True and does judge righteously..but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. And by this Noah and his family were saved from the righteous judgement of God upon the wickedness of mankind. Could more have been saved? Yes, for God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore! That's why there was extra room on the ark....for people. People were destroyed because they didn't believe! And so today people are facing the same predicament...God's wrath abides upon those who know not the Lord Jesus Christ. They are in danger of hell fire! In the parable of Luke 14 many people are invited to the banquet..but many reject because of temporal reasons...then servants are sent out to the streets to bring people in because there is plenty of room at the banquet. Jesus Christ is returning..and there will be a great wedding feast. Many are called to this feast, but few are chosen. The only way in is Jesus Christ! He desires for all men to be saved, but many choose the broad path that leads to destruction. We are saved through grace..just as Noah found grace. The ark is a beautiful picture of the cross of Jesus Christ.....just as the ark had only one door..so to Jesus is the door. But just as in the days of Noah..people were eating, drinking, and getting married..but then sudden destruction came upon them..so to will it be with the coming of Jesus Christ..judgement is coming...we must warn them as Noah the herald of righteousness did!

Challenge the atheists

Today's mission trip to SRJC proved to be quite interesting. After open air preaching under the oak, the team and I set up on the sidewalk next to the intervarsity outreach table. While i was preaching, our team members handed out tracts and did one to one evangelism. During my preaching a young man introduced himself as the president of the atheist club. I challenged the man to test the promises of Jesus Christ..to call upon His name. Yes the man did distract me from preaching to the swarm of people passing by, but i did challenge him to a public square off session. One in which his views would be laid out, and also in which my views would be laid out. I reminded him that he is the president of the atheist club and he should be excited at this opportunity..we'll see if he calls. And the mission continues...to preach Jesus Christ crucified to all!

Muslim encounter

The other day a friend and I went out purposing to compel people to come to faith in Jesus Christ. On this day we approached 3 men, one of which was wearing a head to toe prayer outfit. I approached the men introducing myself as a christian and asked the men their religion. I was told that they were muslims. I then asked them what they believe about Jesus Christ. Here is where it got interesting...they proceeded to preach another Jesus..one whom is nothing but a mere man..one who wasn't crucified..one who will return and tell the world that he is not the Messiah...I then asked the man how he thought he might get to heaven...his reply was one in which was based on obedience to the teachings...here is where I stepped in. I spoke to the men about how are righteousness is as filthy rags in the sight of God and that the only Way is Jesus Christ. I professed to the man the true identity of my LORD....HE is GOD...I have little fear in speaking about my Lord because I know Him in whom I have believed. This was an interesting encounter because it just shows the people in other religions are trying to earn their way to God...by their good works..but we are saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves..it is the gift of GOD. Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins and raised up for our justification. He is the only Way.

How are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard?

Romans 10:15 is very clear..how can they believe in Him of whom they have never heard? Jesus Christ has commanded christians to preach the gospel to every creature because all mankind is guilty and stands condemned in His sight. The brutal death and triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ has made it possible for man to be justified. Jesus is the one who sets a man free from ultimate penalty of sin...eternal damnation. But we must come to Him believing that He was crucified and is Risen..that He is Lord..and our Lord. How can I as a christian..having Jesus Christ within me ever not preach the gospel? woe is me if i preach not the gospel! For i know my Savior and why He came...to seek and save the lost..to bleed..to deny Himself! So to must i deny my life and lay it down for His name sake and the gospels! People are perishing and we must warn them and plead with them to come to Jesus Christ!

The Day is drawing near

"anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified and has outraged the Spirit of Grace." hebrews 10:28 Consider what Jesus Christ has done in offering His body as a sacrifice for sins...that's true love. I fear for people exceedingly who take light the work of Christ Jesus on the cross, and blaspheme His holy name. My heart goes out to those who simply are ignorant to the reality of their impending judgement. This is why I feel called to cry in the wilderness of this world...call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved..but reject Him and expect fearful judgement and fire. I must count myself as dead and buried...and my life an offering for the true and living God..that He might recieve the full reward of His suffering..praise the Lamb of God.

SRJC mission trip #5

I was pleasantly surprised to meet another team member that Colin invited. I absolutely trust Colin for he is a man that depends soley on JESUS CHRIST. The man's name was John and he was curious as to our mission. We prayed as we approached the free speech area of SRJC and also discussed our battle plans. I say battle because we are in a real war. This war cannot be taken lightly and must be fought with prayer, preparation, and unity. I was the open air preacher, while Colin and John where on tract distribution and one=to=one conversations. I preached for ten minutes while students from the campus stopped to listen. There were no hecklers this time. We each had our share of one=to-one conversations in which the gospel was preached. In all things our goal is to lift up JESUS CHRIST that HE might draw all men unto HIMSELF. Praise HIM for the honor of knowing HIM

Book Fair

Not all events are the same. This day a friend and I went to the SR book fair. This was a sign event. I say that because most people were engaged in booths, so i walked around with my scripture sign proclaiming the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. We then walked to the bus depot were i preached to a crowd of people on the other side of the streets. As i began to preach about repentance...several hostile young homosexuals ran up on me and decided to get in my face. I firmly told them that there questions would be answered when my message was completed, and they stepped back. After i preached they came up on me again, but this time they were dancing and yelling nasty comments about our faith and LORD. I warned them of the day of judgement in which every word will be taken into account. As always..we point to JESUS CHRIST and the free gift of everlasting life HE gives..many are called but few are chosen. My friend Roger engaged a buddist priest dressed in full attire while I contiued down the street passing out tracts and preaching the gospel to groups of teenagers. One young man told me that he came from space dust..i simply told him about the foolishness of not believing in GOD and warned him of the dangers of rejecting JESUS CHRIST. As we were leaving we encountered a young atheist man..we engaged him for 20 minutes and prayed for him as we ended are conversation. It is so wonderful to proclaim what JESUS has finished!

Why Preach?

The LORD desires that none should perish..HE did come and die on the cross! That is radical love, and this love demonstrates HIS focus...to seek and save the lost! I desire to be about my FATHER'S business. I want to do HIS will on this earth, and I know HE is about saving souls. Therefore i pray to the LORD of the harvest that I might be sent forth. I believe HE uses every method possible to reach a soul before its entrance into eternity. These methods might include friends, neighbors, tracts, books, tv preachers, pastors, radio preachers, signs with scriptures, and street preachers. I personally will do whatever HE leads me to do...i can be gentle, and i can pull from the fire. The reason for preaching is because people are dying..i am dying, we are all dying. Eternity is no further than one breath away from each one of us..this is why. I will stand and give account for my life..i don't want to be ashamed of my life...in that i lived for myself..rather i desire to lose my life for HIS NAME and the gospel! PREACH THE WORD!

My young evangelist son!

Today my wife informed me that my oldest son Alec(6years of age) told her that he was bringing his bible to school, and that he was going to tell his entire class about how to get out of the lake of fire. My wife went to the womens group and all the ladies prayed for my son. When my wife picked up my son the teacher had something to say. She told my wife that Alec cannot talk about hell and eternal damnation anymore. The teacher stated the Alecs message was to offensive and was not allowed at public school. WOw! This kid really gets it! People are dying every day and entering eternity. He cares for their soul. This truly is the heart of our SAVIOR...to seek and save the lost. I praised my son for his boldness and encouraged him to share only at recess, so he won't be interupting the class time. This is the typical biblical reaction to someone sharing the gospel....hostility and an effort to silence the messanger...I think of Peter and John before the rulers and chief priests. Those bad guys tried to silence the message of CHRIST...but the apostles kept on preaching! Praise GOD for my amazing son!

My Beautiful Wife

I started working for the Safeway Deli in Petaluma shortly after recieving JESUS CHRIST. During this time i was attending Calvary Chapel of Petaluma. This was an extremely foundational place for me because this is where i became rooted and grounded in the WORD of GOD! I noticed that there were many beautiful women at this place, but none so beautiful as the amazing Elizabeth Mcdevitt. Of course I could never talk to her for she was out of my league...but I did wonder if GOD might give her for my wife. During this period a young lady came on staff in the deli. Her name was Olivia. Over the course of time she had heard me talk about the SAVIOR. I asked her one day if she wanted to believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and she said yes. Her and I prayed right there in the deli and she became a born again christian. It turned out that this gal was actually cousins with the amazing Elizabeth from my church! When Elizabeth found out that some christian guy from Safeway had led her cousing to the LORD she was so excited. She came in to meet me ...even bearing gifts(she bought me a cross necklace). Right there in the deli i got her digits....4 or 5 weeks later we were married....talk about divine appointment!

Sonoma COUNTY Fair #2

It was late and Roger's family had just left my house. It had been on my heart all day...to go and preach the gospel at the fair. Roger had mentioned on our previous mission trip to the fair that preaching at closing time would be most effective. The idea of every person hearing the gospel brought joy and excitement to my heart. It brings such joy because it is the power of GOD that leads a man to salvation. HIS WORD is SPIRIT and LIFE..truly! So, i asked my wife and she said...GO! I hopped in my car on the last evening of the Sonoma COunty Fair and went. I set up my soap box and turned on my mic...i preached for 2 hours on sin, judgement to come, and the righteousness found through faith in JESUS CHRIST. I had many people come up to me to ask questions. I also had many people taking my picture. I assumed that they had never seen such a sight. I have found that GOD will use anyone, but we must step out. I being in the way....the LORD led me. So, i left that place knowing that GOD had used me to share the gospel with hundreds of people! How glorious is the KING OF HEAVEN that we would have the honor and priviledge of sharing HIS HOLY WORDS!

Sonoma County Fair Trip #1

I had been praying for the LORD to lead me in preaching the gospel, and the Sonoma County Fair caught my eye. Roger and I decided that the eastern entrance would be the best place to set up shop. WE had tracts, bibles, scripture signs, and a mic/with amp. We parked really far off and on our walk towards the fair grounds we encountered a small teenage group of what appeared to be possible gang bangers. We talked with the kids about sin and what JESUS did on the cross. I've come to understand that most people don't see sin as exceedingly sinful..but rather a small mistake....in actuality, sin is so horrible that GOD HIMSELF had to be nailed to a cross for us to be made right in HIS sight. We left excited that the LORD had a divine appointement scheduled for us before we even got to the fair! The LORD then led us right to a location designated "free speech zone." We then set up shop. Many people were standing in line and listening to us as we took turns preaching the gospel. Hords of people would come in and out of the fair every few minutes, and not to mention the many in the fair who had turned their attention to our message. We left super excited that the gospel had once again been proclaimed under heaven!

San Rafael Mission Trip

Our goal was to reach 100 people through preaching, one-to-one, tracts, and scripture signs. This goal was easily met. Roger and I marched down 4th st in San Rafael passing out tracts and talking with people. We ended up talking with a couple of groups of teenagers, and thus proclaiming the truth of GOD's WORD. We also pleaded with an athiest who was down on his luck. We poured out our hearts and shared the cross with this man, but still he rejected the truth. We almost always tell people not to wait until there last breath to call on the name of JESUS CHRIST because you just never know when that is. WHen will HE require our soul? That is why we go and warn people.
To my delight a line of people formed outside of a bakery co-op in the food court of downtown fourth street. So, i climbed up on the ledge and proclaimed mans wickedness in the sight of GOD and the love that GOD has shown on the cross of calvary. I proclaimed to these people that they would have to go before GOD and their books would be opened...and they would be judged according to what they had done. I warned them of the lake of fire and pointed to the only name given unto men by which we must be saved...the name of JESUS CHRIST.

Apostates at the door

It was a relatively quite day, and then there was a knock at our door. My wife answered and gently gestured for me to come to the door. WHen i arrived at my front door i was surprised to see that the LORD had specially delivered two mormon's for me to witness to. I didn't invite the men in, but rather closed my front door and stepped out onto the porch. The men told me they were out giving away the book of mormon, and then they proceeded to hand me the book. I politely declined and told them that the BIBLE is all I need. I then asked if they bumped into born-again christians alot. They said no and then i asked if i could share with them the major difference between us. I got the ok and then proceeded to explain to them that mankind(including them) was desperately wicked in the sight of GOD and there was not a single good work we could do to fix it. I then talked about the cross of JESUS CHRIST and how HE paid the penalty for our sins. I then told them to repent and put their trust in the risen GOD and SAVIOR or they would perish. I noticed that the leader was not feeling to comfortable having his platform taken out from under him. That's ok.....There is only ONE GOD and only ONE WAY...JESUS CHRIST!

SRJC adventure #4

This was the 4th adventure Colin and I had embarked upon at the SRJC. The day was a planned and prayed for endeavor. I took the free speech podium and proclaimed from Is53 about what CHRIST had accomplished and why HE had to do it. Colin circled the perimeter to give us an idea of how far my message would travel. In other words, how many people could actually hear what I was saying. My style and message attracted an agitated young man who disagreed with the open air approach. We began to dialogue for quite some time, and this attracted a small crowd of people who were curious as to what all the comotion was about. It was awesome because many people were hearing the logic behind my approach....that people are entering eternity every day and are in desperate need of the Savior. We often hear that are methods are ineffective, but that is wrong. I say this because we trust in GODS WORD and HOLY SPIRIT to convict men of sin and convince them of their need for JESUS CHRIST. Our mission is to warn men to flee from the wrath to come and find salvation In JESUS CHRIST. THere was a young gentleman who videotaped some of what happened and you can watch it under my video section. THE LORD will is so compelling in my heart. I am drawn to preach and share with people. I know HIM and what HE has done on the cross is so radical. I see no greater usage of time than to proclaim the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Praise HIM forever!

THe PHOENIX

I began to pray for a partner to preach with. GOD sent me to a man who has known the LORD since 1942. Yep, that's way longer than i've been alive. I thought it quite the honor and shared with the man my heart for the hundreds of kids that go to the phoenix punk theatre every weekend. He agreed that we should go weekly and witness to these kids. We went many weekends and shared the gospel with many kids. The coolest experience was birthed out of this consistency. We met the owner of the phoenix...Tom. I decided to ask him if i could get on the stage, and that unannounced, in the middle of the craziest punk concert around. I wanted to preach the cross to people who didn't come for it, but rather for punk. He said Yes! We planned for 1 month out. I assembled a team of 7 petaluma calvarychapelites to assist me in bible distribution and one-on-one evangelism. Oh, my wife almost died during this 1 month waiting period! So, the night came and it was crazy! THe music was deaf metal...like screaming demons or something...and it was loud. There was about 80-100 kids there, and there was also a small moshpit. I was escorted to the backstage and instructed to run on stage as soon as the first band finished. So i did! As soon as i mentioned us standing before the HOLY GOD the crowd erupted. They spit in my face, cursed me, and chanted satan's name. Many tried to climb on the stage to get me. The security kept them away from me. I preached for about 5 minutes on the reality of GODS HOLINESS and our wickedness....and then i preached the cross! When finished i was scared to get off the stage, but i got an escort and made it out safely. 4 people came up to me after and shared how JESUS had touched their heart through the experience. Also, the team of 7 were all busy witnessing to the many kids. THis experience i will never forget.

THE SEBASTOPOL BARS

No, i don't drink anymore...but i'll go anywhere to warn people to flee from the wrath of GOD. Men often make light of heaven, but when faced with the reality of facing GOD on judgement day...wheeeeewww! I have met many christians or so-called at bars. I wonder...are these really christians? Are they super backslidden? OR are they tares? The reality is that i don't know, but i know the gospel. And so i share it and the reality of judgement day. These bar experiences yielded many one-on one encounters, and probably less business for the bar! The cool thing about stepping out and sharing the cross is that most people will engage you. And many of these people will let you pray for them...right there! WE shared and they heard...i wonder how many we'll see in heaven?

First time for signs

My wife and I see people waving signs everywhere! Stop the wars, sale, and carwash are the most common. This idea was birthed out of that. Lets get the gospel out on signs...for it is the power of GOD that leads a man to salvation. Who knows how GOD might use them. Perhaps a man driving reads my scripture sign that says whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. So it is possible that this is the only scripture this man has ever read. Perhaps he is in a life or death situation and remembers..for it is the SPIRIT OF GOD who brings to our rememberance the things of JESUS. And so the man is saved before he dies...that was our thinking. So my friend and i suited up and headed for GUERNVILLE. We marched down the main strip proudly holding our banners for the LORD. We passed out tracts along the way and engaged many youth at the local bridge. WE hung out for about 1.5 hours and endured some harsh critisicm....but all for OUR SAVIOR JESUS.

PRISON experience

My dad is in prison for murder and has been there most of my life. My family and i often go see him and it is quite the undertaking. For starters you must be there at approximately 6:30 if you even want to get a number to get into the place. Once you have your number there is a long waiting period and most of it is outside. Well that's were this adventure was birthed out of. One time it was as though the LORD highlighted the crowd for me....you know..like a big flashing sign that says...tell us about the SAVIOR! Well, i went into the bathroom and got down on my knees. I asked the LORD that if HE wanted me to do this that boldness was needed. Well, GOD answers prayer! My son Alec and I walked up to this crowd of about 50-100 people and asked for their attention. The entire crowd went silent! I then preached about the reality of eternal damnation and the necessity of repenting and faith towards JESUS CHRIST! WHen finished i thanked the crowd and went on to my visit. I was so overwhelmed..i could hear people whispering about me in the visiting room....THe LORD had used a nobody.

Today's Salvation

In my little community are lots of youth. One benefit of having youth of my own is that it opens up doors to share with kids. Most recently i gave a young man a animated version of the entire bible in 45 minutes. This video emphasized the true nature of man...DESPERATELY WICKED and EVIL! It also revealed the true nature of my GOD....HOLY! Today the young man came to me and gave back the movie. I asked him if he was ready to give his life to JESUS CHRIST. The young man quickly responded with yes. I thought, yes! Yet, i knew that he needed to understand what he was doing. So, i asked him about what sin was...he replied "lying and murdering and doing bad things." I responded with a yes and emphasized how GOD is not like us in this way...in that HE never sins. I then asked him why JESUS died on the cross...he replied "for my sins." I said yes and emphasized that CHRIST was paying the penalty that we deserved. I then asked him if he believed JESUS was risen...he said yes! We then knelt and he asked JESUS to be his LORD. I'm praying that the LORD will establish this young man in HIS HOLY WORD and transform him into a disciple.

First Day of SCHOOL SRJC

My friend and I had decided that the SRJC campus was a spectacular mission field that was white and already for harvest. The fact that somewhere to the extent of 25000 students walked the campus throughout the week was drawing me. I myself being a student there know how antiCHRIST the campus truly is. The science teachers teach evolution and speak of the bible as of a myth. I hear of the so-called religous teachers who are rather satan's ambassador's...they mock christians and are aimed at disproving the bible...good luck! My friend went to his pastor to seek counsel on whether or not he should join me. What did he find...he was told that a group of them had been praying to the LORD about raising some people up and sending them to the campus! Talk about confirmation! So we went to the campus on opening day and set up shop at the crosswalk that divides the campus. Hundreds of students were passing by us every 10 minutes. I stood on the soap box and preached the message of the cross and that men should repent. My friend passed out tracts and held the picket sign. Many heads were turning, and we had many one on one conversations. We left so excited that hundreds of people had heard about how to escape the wrath of GOD.

Bohemian Grove Experience

One day i saw an advertisement for a Santana festival that would be happening in the ampitheater at Monte Rio. This place is called Satan's Layer because it is just below the notorious Bohemian Grove. My friend and I arrived at the place in anticipation of the show ending at 9 or 10. The layout of the town made it such that all the people from the festival would have to pass by us to leave, and this excited me. Our mission was to scatter GOD's HOLY WORD across the soil of people's heart, and then letting the HOLY SPIRIT OF JESUS due as HE pleases. WE set up our soapbox just outside the concert and each had a picket sign with scriptures on them. We also loaded up with prayer and tracts. Things went a little different then we expected. We thought that hundreds of people would pour out of this place at the end of the concert, but it was like a slow trickling stream of people. So, we spent much of our time handing out tracts and chatting with people one on one. We did encounter a guy who persisitently blashphemed the LORD and denied the infallibility of the WORD, but he heard the gospel......On a much better note two men recieved the LORD JESUS CHRIST and made a committment to live for HIM. We gave them bible literature and sent them off with prayers. We left excited that GOD had called us to such a exciting and scary mission!

Social Services experience

One morning at approximately 7:30 i was driving by the social services office in Santa Rosa. I was surprised to see a large line of people waiting eagerly to get inside. I then realized that this was a great opportunity to share the gospel. I found out that this is a regular thing..in that people have needs and they go to this place to get them met, and I knew that their greatest need was the salvation that JESUS CHRIST purchased for us on the cross. I was a little nervous, but knowing that JESUS was risen and was with me brought comfort and boldness. So, i planned for that same week. I got up at about 4:30 in the morning and spent time in HIS HOLY WORD and in worship. I was prepared but a little nervous. I drove to the place and arrived at about 7:30. I sat in my car for 10 minutes and watched the line get bigger and bigger...it reached the parking lot(50-100 people?) I then prayed and retrieved my soap box, microphone w/amplification, bible, and a bunch of tracs. I set up my box about 20 feet from the line and turned on my amp. I noticed heads turning in wonder as i stood up on my box. I then addressed the crowd from matthew chapter 6 about not worrying about everyday needs. The idea was to get across that man's greatest need was to obtain the righteousness that comes through faith in JESUS CHRIST. I recieved the crowds full attention with a few hecklers. When finished i got off my box and walked to the front of the line. I then handed out bible tracts to every person in line(minus the ones who wouldn't take them). I left that place with a great excitement. I was experiencing how wonderful it is to preach the CROSS of JESUS CHRIST.

My experience

My experience this adventure was one in which the Lord used my beautiful wife as an instrument of encouragement. It's been said that one's wife is the primary person God speaks to you through. Well for starters i felt as though a new demon had been assigned to me or something because of this new intimidation factor. My goal was to preach the gospel at the Santa Rosa Junior College...and this time it would be alone. I remember my wife telling me that if i didn't do it, then dinner would not be there for me. My wife being of one mind and heart only solidifies my sense of the Lord's calling to street preaching. I headed out for the college at approximately 10:30 A:m with the plan to preach for about 1 hour at the crosswalk that divides the campus. I noticed that there were not alot of kids migrating during this period, so naturally i got intimidated at the idea of standing up on my box for so few people. I then began to feel as though my prayers were wasted attempts..in that i prayed and didn't step out...for i had many hours in prayer in preparation. It's not a good feeling to pray for the Lord to use you...and then you do nothing! I then had a spontaneous idea to head to the area of the campus in which free speach was permitted from 12 to 1. I arrived at the location 30 minutes in advance, and yes i was still wondering if I was even going to do it. During this period i opened the Word and began to pick up where i left off that morning. I opened to the book of Mark and read 3 consequtive stories in which the Lord was speaking to me...the first was about not putting your lamp under a bushel...then...about the sower who scattered his seed, but didn't know how it was to grow...then about the JESUS calming the storm in response to the fear of the disciples....Here was the message i was hearing...Jim, don't be scared but let your light shine....scatter the Word and it will not be in vain...and don't be faithless because we've done this many times before. When 12 o'clock rolled around i noticed a man standing on the free speach podium and so i approached him. I asked him how long he would be, so i could have a turn. He in turn wanted to know my message...so we dialoged for approx. 10 minutes on the gospel and he absolutely rejected our Lord..but he heard. I then stood up on the podium and preached for 10 minutes on sin, judgement to come, and the righteousness which is by faith in JESUS CHRIST. I had two passing by hecklers, and about 50 students in the surrouding areas's curious as to what in the world was going on. I then engaged two students in which the gospel was revealed, yet they persisted to make light of the bible and those who believe it. I left that place with a great joy and peace in that God's Word was scattered and that He was working!

The beginning

The beginning of this adventure started with my salvation, and will end with my death. The adventure is to preach the gospel to every creature. The method by which the Lord has currently called me is open air preaching. Tommorrow will be my first time alone at the SRJC...but the Lord is with me and will sustain me.
