World Series

Myself, Carlin, and Roger recently took a mission trip down to game two of the World Series in San Fran. While in route via bart we handed out tracts, bibles, and spoke with several about Christ. We ended up arriving at the game in the sixth inning. It was a bit difficult finding the perfect location to set up our preaching pulpit, but eventually we ended up in the middle of a crosswalk intersect. When the people came pouring out of the stadium..by the thousands...many of them would be standing at my intersection waiting for the train to pass by so that they could get across the street. While they were waiting we took advantage of this large gathering of people by proclaiming to them salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We had preaching, conversations, and many tracts distributed on this particular night. We were the only born again christians preaching ...what an honor! One particular man named Santiago was drawn to the Lord Jesus Christ when Carlin was boldly preaching the gospel. It was so amazing to watch. The man's friends were trying to pull him away, but he just couldn't leave! Many in this crowd were so fanatical about this sport that it reminded me of idolatry. This people were so in love with the cares of this world...that they didn't even want to think about there own soul..It reminded me of the children of Israel in the wilderness worshipping the golden calf..eating, drinking, dancing..and playing. Many were smoking marijuana and blowing it in our faces..I'm amazed that God saves any of us! My heart goes out to these people because this is fleeting vanity and pure idolatry. Love not the world. May God continue to strengthen this weak vessel to press on. Please pray for me. Jim

San Fran State

Our newest location has been SFSU. We've been preaching here on Monday's and Tuesday's for a couple of weeks now. We are underneath a beautiful tree in the midst of a big open grassy array of paths. We have handed out hundreds of tracts and had many engaging conversations with nonbelievers. Also, we have been proclaiming the Gospel for any and all to hear. The big encouragement at this particular place has been the response of the christians on campus. They are very excited that the gospel is going out, and many of them have been participating in some way. Our goal is for the whole campus to hear the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray that this mission is accomplished. Thank you, Jim

Cool stories

We have been praying that the Lord would confirm our ministry more and more. Interestingly, last week a man met us in San Fran and told us that the Holy Spirit revealed to him in a dream that two men would be preaching at the cable car the next day. He was told to stay with these two men..we were those men. This man labored with us for about two hours..he was sent to encourage and confirm the gospel. Today at the SRJC there was a heckler passing through a crowd of people yelling "shut up, shut up, shut...." and then all of a sudden the glass bottle he was holding fell out of his hand and shattered on the ground. He was immediately silenced and I praised God. THe Lord is working in a most interesting way in our midst, and our prayer is for Him to use us to proclaim CHRIST to all the world! By the way we are preaching the gospel twice a week at the Santa Rosa Junior College and once a week in San Fran. Pray that the Lord will continue to open doors for us to proclaim His victory!

The mission continues

We are currently preaching the Gospel at the Santa Rosa Junior College twice a week. Also, we are preaching in downtown San Fran on Saturdays. I thank God that HE has blessed me with a faithful laborer each particular day. We also have a one night a week that we are seeking the Lord together in regards to the ministry He's given us. We urge you to labor with us in earnest prayer! Remember...the harvest is plentiful!

Godly Repentance

We have been plowing the soil of the heart of man at the Santa Rosa Junior COllege for the past month. Typically we encounter hostility from nonbelievers, and yes, the occassional professing christian. I would like to point out this particular story because I believe it points out what Godly repentance is, and also demonstrates that the Spirit of God is at work in our midst. About two weeks ago a man very assuredly asserted that we were pushing people away from God by our method of sharing the gospel. He didn't like our outloud preachin and clear presentation of the wrath of GOd. He, like many professing christians, thought it not right to tell people about sin and hell. I shared my biblical reasons for preaching and he left unconvinced. Last week the same man came up to me while I was preaching. He told me that when he was in class that something didn't sit right with him about our encounter. He opened the bible and the first thing that hit him was not to prevent those who are preaching the word. He told me that GOD convicted him! This man then stuck out his hand and encouraged me to keep doing the will of GOD! THis is Godly repentance...led by the HOLY SPIRIT! Not only did the Lord show me how the Spirit convicts, but also demonstrated His approval of our ministry unto Him.

prayer requests

the Lord to be glorified in all we say and do,
the gospel would be proclaimed without compromise,
words would be given to us,
doors opened to preach the gospel,
gentleness, love, and meekness would be our adornment,
boldness granted,
clothed with power from on high,
the Lord would show Himself alive to the hearts of men by many infallible proofs,
men might be led to repentance,
the conviction of sin for those who hear,
many souls born again,
many fellow laborers raised up,
christians encouraged and emboldened to share their faith,
The Lord Jesus to be glorified.

Thank You

SRJC 2010

This semester we are engaging the campus in gospel preaching and prayer. The Lord of heaven tells us to pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest! We have handed out hundreds of tracts in our 3 mission trips there..and preached to thousands of students, and have had many amazing conversations. Our goal is to preach as dying men to dying men...to share as though we'll never share again..pray that God would pour out His HOly Spirit. We are praying the Lord to bring down the strongholds on campus and grant repentance to men! We are investing much time there and in prayer. Our heart is to see men come to salvation in Jesus Christ..and in so doing bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Santa Rosa Street Market is the harvest.

We are near the end of the SR street Market and the last few preaches have been spectacular. The Lord, I believe, has been revealing Himself to the hearts of men. And this is really the heart of it all...that God would show Himself Risen from the dead to a man! Now we've been handing out hundreds and hundreds of bible tracts, a few bibles, and preached to thousands. We asked one man if He heard the Jesus Christ speaking to him, and his reply was yes. We asked if he believed..his response was yes! We gave him a bible and prayed for the young man. We have been praying every Saturday night for the Lord to save souls..and He is working mightily in our midst. I truly believe we need to take the Lord serious in seeking and saving the lost...eternal damnation is a scary thought. The harvest is wherever the lost are...lets go!

Knowing He is Soveriegn

Lately we have been proclaiming the Gospel in downtown Santa Rosa. I must say that it has been a little different than usual. I say that because people are standing around us(hostile as they may be)and are listening to us. My greatest desire in these moments is to glorify my God in word and response. I've noticed my great need for gentleness in dealing with the lost sinner. The book of Timothy tells me to gently instruct those who oppose themselves..that by chance God might grant them repentance. I know that salvation is of the Lord..and when He moves to save a soul..it happens..and at the same time I deeply desire to be ministering in a way that lines up with His commands. God help me! We have been praying and yearning to see the Lord save the lost..I believe that we are definitely in the stage of breaking up the ground and sowing. I'm not sure if this ministry will be the ministry to be a part of the harvest..but we sure are praying.. and either way, those who sow and those who reap rejoice together. We also know that God has preordained good works for us to walk in...so whatever happens in the field is according to His good pleasure! My prayer is for a great awakening ...a great harvest of truly repentant men and women who fear God..and that no ministry or man could claim its stake in it..but rather that all the glory would go to JESUS CHRIST. Oh how I long to just be a part of that! Jim semisch

To simply preach the Gospel anywhere!

I love preaching the Gospel. For it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. My life has been transformed, my sins forgiven, and my eternal welfare have all been deltwith because of Christ Jesus. I am eager to preach whenever and wherever possible, so that someone might have the opportunity for salvation. Recently i've been sent to the Market place in Santa Rosa and San Fran. I would say that the majority of people ignore my message and mock it. It seems that our culture wants nothing to do with God...at least the true and living God. The King is coming back though..and I know that He has called me to this ministry...which is absolutely foolish in the eyes of the world. It seems to be a ministry in which the only branches that bear fruit are my own. I would say that this could be a stumbling block and cause me to doubt the preaching of the gospel..but the Spirit of Jesus Christ compels me to go to the lanes of the city...and warn. SO this is truly a ministry in which i'm a trumpet blower...warning people of the impending danger..that is God's wrath. Pointing people to the stumbling block and the rock of offense..Jesus Christ. In light of Gods judgement on sin..what else could i possibly invest my time in?

San Fran gay pride 2010

As my preaching partner puts it..this event was nothing but sexual anarchy. This parade was the demonstration of what a people comes to when they reject the LORD. The wickedness and moral depravity that my eyes saw and ears heard are too disturbing for me to mention. Myself, my partner Chris, and fellow brother Steve were sent by the Lord of Hosts to proclaim the everlasting Gospel to the tens of thousands of sodomites. We were verbally assaulted, spit upon, kicked, mocked, and had many drinks thrown on us. The first half of our 7 hours of preaching was concentrated on the tourists on market and powell. I then felt extremely burdened to warn the homosexuals. We set up our portable pulpits in the middle of an intersection next to the parade. Chris and I preached in this location for several hours with large crowds surrounding us. We had six to eight cops that surrounded us to protect us from the large mocking mob. I was blessed to hear my faithful christian brother proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in the midst of such hostility. Overall we preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to many people and it was absolutely rejected. As always our mission is to faithfully proclaim the Lord's crucifixion and resurrection..and in this we rejoice! praise Jesus Christ our Lord for the honor of knowing Him. JIm Semisch

Pirate Festival Vallejo

This mission trip sent us to the waterfront of vallejo to the Pirate Festival. With over 20,000 people expected..we had to go. We went through the festival displaying scripture signs and were thrown out shortly thereafter. We then set up our soapboxes right in front of the exit/enter area. The cops arrived shortly after and affirmed us in our first ammendment rights. We preached the gospel of JESUS CHRIST for 3 hours to hords of disguised people. BUt the condition of the human heart isn't hidden from GOD, so we had to waRN THEM. OUr afternoon saw many threats of violence, much mockery, much perversion, and some attentitive listeners. Amongst all this Chris was filmed by a professional film crew..to where that broadcast goes..only GOD knows. As always the goal of the mission was to preach JESUS CHRIST as LORD and to warn every man of the day of judgement. Thousands heard the gospel, and i'm sure many more around the world will hear of our great KING due to the video cameras. PRaise be to JESUS CHRIST! HE reigns forever!

The serious conviction of God's upward calling

My understanding of God's upward calling encompasses a perspective of knowing no one according the the flesh. That means i think in terms of born again or child of disobedience. I have prayed that the Lord would give me His heart for lost souls..and so the scales have been removed from my eyes and all that I see is God's wrath coming upon the children of disobedience who revel in the daylight. I absolutely cannot sit in a pew when the gospel is the power of God unto salvation...and how shall they hear without a preacher! The harvest is plentiful..and i'm even comforted knowing that it's impossible for me to save a single soul..but rather i'm to preach Christ crucified...and He can make it grow if He wills. For God has mercy upon whom He wills. I love Him!! I shall proclaim with a loud voice like the angel in the book of revelation..fear God and give Him glory! For this gospel is the everlasting gospel. Preach it until your dying breath.

Preach Christ

Although i have not been posting...i've still been preaching. My adventure has wandered away from the colleges..for now..and down to the streets of San Francisco. This city is full of lost souls in desperated need of the Savior! I have Him or rather He has me..so how could i bury so great a treasure? No i must shout it from the roof tops.."repent and believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and you shall be saved!" It would be a crime and a wicked sin..not to declare what He has done. Please raise me up and send me forth my KING! IN CHRIST NAME.

The Risen Christ

Because Christ has risen from the dead...nothing else matters but honoring, obeying, and living a life that glorifies Him! I just recently returned from a high school retreat in which i was reminded of how incredibly priveledged i am to know Christ, to have the brotherhood of saints, and to be under the word of God. To be a christian is by far the most amazing thing in the universe..nothing compares to knowing the God who laid His own life down on a cross...and took it up again. I shall live in lovely obedience to my Savior!
